Platte County Steam and Tractor Show/Cruise—Aug. 8, 2013

What a great day, Thursday, August 8, 2013 for a 43 mile trip from Tracy (Platte County Steam and Tractor Show) To Parkville and return. The weather was perfect 70 to 78 degrees overcast along with16 rain drops. There were 70 to 80 tractors of all colors. From the GKCTCC the following were there with their pride and joy; Bob Antes with his JD 630, Dan Hanna with his IH SH, Frances Brenner with his JD B, Glenn Ratzlaff with his JD A and JD 60 driven by Lawrence Walter, Wes Storm with his IH SM and Marvin Halvorsen with his JD 400 on his first tractor cruise. All made the trip without any mishaps. All though one person had to replace a couple of spark plugs. A great time was had by all. We saw some great looking corn and bean fields, part of KCI Airport we did not know existed. At the River Front Park in Parkville we enjoyed a pork, and brisket dinner with all the trimmings. They put on a great Tractor Cruise. If you get a chance you should think about it for next year. Wes
